5 Tips for Keeping Natural Beauty Products Fresh

Follow these 5 tips below to keep homemade natural beauty products fresh for several weeks.
1. Make products in small batches to ensure freshness. If you use something daily, like shampoo, make a larger batch. If you use a scrub once a week, you can make enough for 4 uses and it will last you a month, but anymore than that and it could go bad.
2. Choose airtight, glass or plastic containers for storage. Make sure they are clean.
3. Label your items with the date you made them so you always know how fresh it is - remember they last only a few weeks. If a product smells sour, or not how you remember it smelling, it is probably bad. Make a fresh (smaller) batch.
4. Store products in a cabinet away from light, but not in the bathroom. Most items need to be kept cool and dry.
5. Reduce chance of bacteria ruining your beauty goodies by not putting your hands in the jar. Use cotton balls/pads, q-tips, small wooden spoons, plastic measuring spoons, or other similar items to scoop, swab and spoon out product.
